Banks is a major supplier of coal to the UK’s electricity generation industry producing high quality produce to meet customers energy and environmental requirements.  The team is also a major supplier of clays to the brick making industry.

The company employs and develops an experienced team of professional mining engineers and geologists to assess the mineral resource potential of sites, as well as its own site investigation team who use modern drilling rigs and computer modelling to provide detail of the mineral resource.

H.J. Banks Mining also operates its own sites using a modern plant fleet which has recently been adapted to meet stringent production and environmental standards. The fleet has been modified to reduce the noise output by almost half the volume of sounds emitted as well having new spray bars and water tanks fitted to provide maximum protection against dust emissions.  This engineering, which has been carried out by Banks engineers, is world first technology which has already won awards from the Noise Abatement Society for it performance during mining operations.

The Banks marketing team uses its own laboratory to continually monitor the quality of the coal resource to meet customer requirements under strict Quality Assurance guidelines.
