Experienced construction professional Tom Brady has taken up a new career challenge after joining Scottish property developer Banks Developments as its new projects director.
And the wide range of skills that Tom has developed over quarter of a century in the property industry is set to make a positive impact on Banks’ growing portfolio of projects across the company.
Tom initially trained as an architect and worked for a decade in the industry, before moving to construction firm Bovis in the early 1990s and developing expertise in design and project management.
He has joined Banks from Amec, where he was responsible as Head of Project Solutions for guiding the company’s bid team to a number of major Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and Public Private Partnership (PPP) successes, including South Lanarkshire Primaries Schools and East Dunbartonshire Schools contracts.
In his new role, Tom is responsible for both the development of projects bids and the delivery of schemes undertaken by Banks in the property, energy and waste management sectors.
He says: “The variety of schemes that Banks has both in progress and development, and the opportunities that will follow to find creative solutions to a wide range of project challenges made this new role very appealing to me.
“Banks has a growing reputation as a leader in the Scottish sustainable development industry, and part of my role will be to ensure this is sustained and enhanced by the quality of the projects we undertake and the results we produce.”
Banks Developments is the company behind proposals for Scotland’s first ‘eco-town,’ at Cardenden in Fife, and has a range of other large-scale regeneration, property, energy and waste management projects in progress and development across the country.
Colin Anderson, managing director of Banks Developments, says: “Tom’s wide-ranging experience and his total commitment to excellence in project design and delivery makes him an extremely strong addition to the Banks team.” Last updated: Thursday 28 August 2008, 10:47 AM
